State Fair Named "Top 20 Summer Event for 2010" by STS
The State Fair of West Virginia was named a "Top 20 Summer Event for 2010" by the Southeast Tourism Society. This is our fifth year having received this honor - 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and now 2010! Thank you to the Greenbrier County CVB for nominating the Fair for consideration. "This recognition highlights the efforts of the staff and volunteers who work hard to provide a wonderful event year after year while holding on to our mission of agriculture, education and family entertainment.", says Manager, Marlene Pierson-Jolliffe.
The only West Virginia event to receive this honor for 2010 - Come out and see for yourself why the State Fair of WV is a "Top 20" in Twenty-10!
2010 State Fair of West Virginia Cookbook
We are now accepting your recipe submissions for the 2010 Edition of the State Fair Cookbook. Recipes will be accepted in the following categories:
- Appetizers & Beverages
- Soups & Salads
- Vegetables & Side Dishes
- Main Dishes
- Breads & Rolls
- Desserts
- Cookies & Candy
- This & That (preserves, jams, special dietary needs)
Proceeds from Cookbook sales will benefit the State Fair Endowment which provides long term funding for Career & Scholarship Advancement Initiatives,
Youth Educational Enrichment and Agricultural & Competitive Exhibit Premiums .
To submit your recipe download the form below and mail or fax to the Fair Office no later than March 5, 2010. All recipes must be submitted on the form below and be written in ink.

2010 State Fair Scholarships Available
The State Fair of West Virginia, in association with corporate, civic and individual contributors will offer five (5) scholarships in 2010. The State Fair Scholarship Program recognizes youth who have participated in the State Fair, excel academically and have a proven financial need.
Applicants must be a West Virginia resident and must be pursuing a vocational trade, associate or bachelors degree and must have participated in the Junior Livestock Show, Equine Show or 4-H and FFA Youth Exhibit Program within the past five (5) years.Applicants must be eligible for college admission during the same year in which they apply for the State Fair Scholarship, or must be currently enrolled in post secondary education.
